Just to say thank you to you guys!!

Sorry I haven't been updating my gallery much lately as I'm working on some stuff, both personal and work. Thank you all for still dropping by and looking around my gallery.

Hi all!!! Wish you all have a good start in the new year and the year ahead!

I guess I had a funny start to the new year. As you all may know, I just posted a "Queen of Hearts" ([link]) artwork on DA just few hours ago. And when I woke up in the late morning to look at the DA messages, I read that my artwork was stolen. The person's account is deactivated but here's the link to the stolen artwork: [link]

The thing I find it amusing is that the thief even wrote a comment on my artwork and asked me why did I steal his/her art? I was thinking is this person crazy? Lucky there are good people in DA to help me tell this person off. The reply the thief wrote was also weird that he/she keeps claiming that the artwork was drawn by him/her. I think let's assume it's a he so I don't have to keep writing he/she.
Then I read the comments on the stolen artwork page, there's even a funny person, maybe an accomplice or the same person in a different username, who's helping him to claim that the artwork is his. Saying this is a new art style from him. *rolleyes*

This made me think that could this thief be a kid? And not editing it to hide the fact that it's stolen and strongly claiming it's done by yourself is rather childish. I'm not teaching anybody to steal artwork or steal anything in real life here. Art theft is really common here or in any art community. It's really difficult to totally stop it. All I'm doing is just questioning why would people do such a thing? Is it to get attention? Won't you feel bad about it or think that this is something bad you've done? Not at all? Not even in the very deepest part of your heart or brain?

If you really have a passion about drawing and art, and you're just starting to learn about it, I'm sure you'll need reference pictures to see how to draw. Even I still need that. However, I just look at the picture and try to interpret it my way as in really sketch it out myself. Not totally tracing it unless you really have difficulty getting a pose or perspective. Through tracing, learn how other artists draw and slowly learn to draw without tracing in the future. Isn't that how we all started off in the beginning when we were kids? We like a certain character and kept drawing fanarts of them. We traced and we copied. As kids, we just drew for fun and to amaze our families and friends. And we sometimes may or may not say where we copied the picture from. Most probably we just showed it off and threw it aside and it will be forgotten. With technology now, I'm sure kids or anybody, including myself, would like to share their art with the world. However, showing art to the world will need us to show some courtesy to artists we have copied. That's why it will be good to write that the artwork you've drawn is referenced from where or who. It's a common courtesy I've learnt throughout my years on DA.

Think my mind is getting blurry from my flu and cough so I'll end this journal and hope people think of what they're doing before they do it. And also, thank you all for helping to keep a look out for art thieves and telling the artists about them. You guys are like the DA Police! hahahha...

HI HI!!!! Are you excited to know who's the winner of this coloring contest????? Before I tell you all, I would like to thank everybody who participated. Everybody did a good job and it's quite hard to really choose just 1 winner but I found 1 in the end. Hope you all had fun and give yourself a pat on the back for your good job and effort.

*The reason I chose this is because I like the idea of the hair also as flames instead of just the ball with flames. Saw the effort in the background and it's beautifully done and the whole artwork looks nice.

Firstly, I would really like to thank you all for your support and always checking out my gallery. Hadn't been here for a very long time but now I'm back!! I hope to do more artwork to share with you all and to improve myself.

As some of you may have known that I started doing these zodiac girls from 2010 (Tiger Girl ) and 2011 (Bunny Girl ). And next year is the year of Dragon and so Dragon Girl is born.

So what is the "Dragon Girl Coloring Contest" about??? Well, it's just color her! After this contest is closed, I'll take some time to choose a winner. The winner will get an artwork done by me upon his/her request as a X'mas present. You can use anything to color her, digitally or you can print it and color with color pencils or any other medium. Just have fun coloring. No limited number of entries.

It's been a very long time since I've really updated my gallery with complete artworks. Sorry about that.

Cheerleader, Soccer Player etc) or you can draw them as teachers (but don't draw an underage character as a sexy teacher, DA won't like that) or a scene in school. Just school-related stuffs. Yeah!! I've gone back in time. I've arrived safely in Seattle. No losing my way in Narita, Japan airport or what so ever. Thank you guys for wishing me having a good flight and all. Thank you very much.
It's my 4th day here. It's CCCCCooooooolllllddddddd!!! And it's raining sometimes. Haven't really been to any places of interest yet but I do plan to go there. The place I'm staying is in Bothell and it's near a Fred Meyer. Anybody living around this area???

Sorry for the late review. I was out of town.

Anyways, "The Princess And The Frog" is nice. If you like to see something which reminds you of your childhood Disney movies, I recommend you to go and watch it. It brought back memories to when I was watching "The Little Mermaid", "Beauty And The Beast", "Aladdin" and etc. And hearing the music, I suddenly thought, "Oooo!! I can add another Disney 2D cartoon OST to my collection again!!!" Right after the show, I went to the nearest music store to look for it but I couldn't find it!!! Had asked my boyfriend to order it online for me.
The animation quality is still good!! Characters are nice and I cried when Ray, the firefly, died. I kind of fell in love with Prince Naveen. This has never happened to me before even though I like Aladdin but it's because his singing voice is nice. I don't know why but I guess Naveen's handsome and his voice is charming. He looks like a mix of Prince Eric and Hercules or somebody else. I don't know. Even Tiana looks like a mix of Mulan and Belle and somebody. I don't know. Louis is really cute. Chubby and silly. Charlotte's cute too!! She's really energetic and fun. I like the part where she wants her Dad to tell Tiana about the Prince staying with them and she keeps interrupting him and stuff. Really love-able characters.
Some parts look 3D-ish but I don't know if they do any 3D. My guess is they didn't. The best part is that the voice over and the singing voice are by the same person!!!! It's been so long since Disney did that!! The music is really nice!!! The story is a nice twist to the usual fairy tale. I keep wanting to know how the story will end though I know that it'll be a happy ending. It's like will they still be frogs and live happily ever after or turn back to humans?? I do find Ray becoming a shining star beside Evangeline a bit cheesy but it's a nice way to tell you that he's now with his lover and stuff.
Love the stylized scenes and the ending credit is beautiful. I'd give a 4/5.

Go watch it:
- If you love Disney movies when you're a kid and want to bring back memories of your childhood.
- Coz it's been so long since Disney goes back to its roots!!
- Coz it's BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And AWESOME!!!!!

Don't watch it:
- If you don't really like musicals. The singing sequences appears in most of the different sequence of the story and it's like when they're introducing new characters of the show.   
- If you hate fairy tales or Disney.
