Dejah Thoris by mashi Dejah Thoris by mashi
Watch John Carter few days ago and thought to draw the princess of Mars.

The movie was OK for me.

Enjoy. :)

I like your version of the princess better than the movie! Not that the actress isn't attractive, I just like your vision of her better, especially her outfit. Your use of red is pretty cool :D I thought the movie was pretty good, at least better than the impression I got from the reviews. It was entertaining enough for me.

Now that's more of a Dejah Thoris! ;3 I like that the whole piece was done on red! <3

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I was disappointed just by watching trailers, and seeing how Dejah Thoris appears in the movie. I just thought.....no. That's not her. I suppose because this is Disney, there were things they didn't want to do, like have her almost nekkid, of course. But well....I also feel Disney shouldn't have handled this movie to begin with... -___- But we'll see, whenever I get to watching the movie. :I

hahah...My impression of her was more sexy from drawings I see on the internet. Then the movie's version, she's still sexy but is not as sexy as those online pictures. ahahha...;P

I didn't see the movie, but I was underwhelmed by the book.
I like John Carter inspired art though, and yours is no exception :D

Having grown up on those books, I found the movie to just be awful. Completely terrible awful. Nothing about the characters was right, nothing about the story was right.. just... oh mah gaw.

However, your picture here is all kinds of right!

I agree completely. I hate when writers and directors take creative licenses to
good books. Walt Disney Pictures should NEVER have been allowed to buy the rights
to John Carter...

I've heard of the original "John Carter" books, however haven't not yet seen the movie, I'll hold my judgement.

Well don't get me wrong.. The movie has artistic value. But does not
even come close to holding true to the books. The fact that his name
is John Carter and he ends up on Mars is about all they manage not to
screw up. That said, it was entertaining, at least.

I've heard they did take a lot of liberties with the settings, characters and such... I've heard reams of complaints on how Dejah Thoris was reduced to a white-skinned woman with red tattoos.

Still, I will hold judgement until I see it. I never go into any movie these days with high expectations. So that way, if it DOES prove to be a bomb, then I haven't lost any real investment into it.
